1. Since the files are only uploaded on the server for 10 days, can we use mirror on some other server? because because of this, let's say someone else may request for the same paper after 10 days, that would be redundant.
2. Using another platform for the forum, that allows multiple subforums for different publications and/or journal or field. MyBB has an excellent point system, why not use that?
